Tiger Airways has just announced the commencement of flights between Melbourne and Sydney, with up to four services between the cities each day from 03 Jul 2009.

TT md Shelley Roberts said the route had been long anticipated by travellers and "is a result of feedback from the public, both in Victoria and New South Wales.

"Tiger Airways has always been proud to be Melbourne's home-town airline, and now we're even more thrilled to be adding this important interstate route to our schedule," she said.

Tickets for the new route are now on sale from $68 one way at the Tiger website.
