Guarded by the majestic Himalayan ranges in the north and helmed by magnificent stretch of golden beaches, India is a vivid kaleidoscope of landscapes, magnificent historical sites and royal cities, misty mountain retreats, wide range of flora and fauna, hospitable people, rich cultures and festivities. The timeless mystery and beauty of India has been waiting for you for more than 5000 years, always warm and inviting, a place of infinite variety - one that favours you with different facets of its fascination every time you visit India.

India's amazing diversity offers you everything you could ever want in a holiday. From the moment that you set foot in India to be greeted by a graceful Namaste , a gesture that denotes both welcome and respect, you are on the way to one of the most rewarding experiences of your life.

Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India has launched “Visit India Year 2009” scheme to attract and encourage more tourists to visit India in 2009. The scheme is effective from April 1 to December 31, 2009. Various incentives are on offer, to visiting tourists, which are indicated in our websites www.incredibleindia.org.

India is emerging as a preferred destination in this market. This is expected to generate increased business for the travel trade and airlines. In March 2009, there was an increase of 21.5% in number of visas issued to Australians for India compared to March 2008. May and June’09 witnessed 14% growth in visa figures.

India Tourism Sydney supports the wholesalers/tour operators by way of Brochure support, Advertising support, Joint Fam tours for Wholesalers, Retailers and Media, Organising educational seminars and India centric events for retailers and consumers, Road shows jointly with Indian travel trade organisations or local tour operator, airlines etc. and other events to promote tourism to India. Tour Operators promoting India may like to add new itineraries and new operators may like to include India in their brochure and avail the support.

The extent of support will depend on the merit of each case.
